Accessibility Policy

Our commitment

At LifeQuest Behavioral Health Care, everyone deserves to feel like they belong here, and that includes our website. We want every visitor to be able to learn about our services, find our offices, and reach our team, whatever their ability or the technology they use.

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities, including people who are blind or have low vision, who are deaf or hard of hearing, or who have motor, cognitive, or learning disabilities. Accessibility is ongoing work, and we review our website regularly as we add new content.

What we’ve done

  • Clear page structure. Every page uses headings in a logical order, so screen reader users can scan and jump between sections.
  • Text descriptions for images. Meaningful images have alternative text that describes them.
  • Keyboard access. You can reach and use the menu, links, buttons, and forms with a keyboard alone, and a visible outline shows where you are on the page.
  • Labelled forms. Every field on our contact form has a visible label.
  • Easy to call or email. Phone numbers and our email address are links, so you can tap to call or write to us from any device.
  • Accessibility toolbar. The icon in the bottom-left corner of every page opens a toolbar where you can change the text size, line spacing, and contrast, switch to a more readable font, highlight links, stop animations, and more.
  • Spanish translation. Use the language switcher at the top of the page to read the site in Spanish. Our adult consent paperwork is also available in Spanish, and we have a Spanish-speaking therapist on our team.
  • Works on any screen. The site adjusts to phones and tablets without sideways scrolling.

Known limitations

We’re open about the areas that don’t yet fully meet WCAG 2.2 AA:

  • Colour contrast. Some text and buttons that use our sage green and soft background colours have lower contrast than the guidelines recommend. The high contrast and readable font options in the accessibility toolbar can make this text easier to read.
  • Some icon links. A few small arrow icons that link to our contact page don’t have a text label, so screen readers may announce them only as “link.” The same page is always available through the “Request an Appointment” and “Contact Us” buttons.
  • Office pages on desktop. On larger screens, the Reno and Carson City pages don’t have a main page heading that screen readers can find. The office details on those pages are still fully readable.
  • Machine translation. Our Spanish version is created automatically by Google Translate and may not always be exact. For anything important, please call us.
  • Downloadable forms. Our patient paperwork PDFs may not be fully accessible to every screen reader. If you have trouble with them, contact us and we’ll help you complete them another way.
