ADHD
ADHD shows up differently depending on where you are in life.
ADHD
It can look like distraction. It can look like restlessness. It can look completely different in a child than it does in an adult. Our providers review your full history to sort out what's actually going on, because effective care starts with getting the diagnosis right.
Kids & Teens
It doesn't always look like what you'd expect
These are some of the patterns worth paying attention to.
Trouble Staying Focused
Schoolwork that starts strong and falls apart halfway through, not from a lack of trying, but from a brain that drifts.
Big, Fast Emotions
Frustration or excitement that shows up loudly and passes just as quickly, often bigger than the moment calls for.
Restlessness
Fidgeting, or always seeming to be in motion, even when they're trying to sit still.
Friendship Struggles
Wanting friends, but missing the social cues that come easier to other kids.
Impulsivity
Interrupting, jumping in without thinking, not defiance, just a brain that moves fast.
Chronic Disorganization
Lost homework, forgotten instructions, a backpack that swallows everything.
A Real Assessment
We take time to understand your child's whole picture, not just a checklist of symptoms. We'll talk through how things look at school, at home, and with friends, before landing on any diagnosis or plan.
The Awesome Minds Club
A group built specifically for neurodivergent and ADHD preteens, focused on social skills, managing big emotions, and connecting with peers who actually get it. Kids learn best alongside others going through something similar, not in isolation.
Medication, When It's Right
If medication becomes part of the plan, it's never the first or only step. We use GeneSight testing to help find what's likely to actually work for your child, reducing the trial and error that so often comes with starting medication.
Adults
Often quieter, and easy to miss for years
ADHD in adults rarely looks like the stereotype. It's often mistaken for being scattered, or just bad at adulting.
Restlessness That Lives Inside
Less fidgeting, more a mind that rarely feels settled, even when everything around you is calm.
Trouble Starting, Not Just Finishing
Knowing exactly what needs to happen and still not being able to make yourself begin.
Feeling Perpetually Behind
A sense of working twice as hard as everyone else just to keep pace.
Friendship Struggles
Meaning to text back, meaning to make plans, and somehow months go by anyway.
Chronic Disorganization
Bills, deadlines, and a space that gets messier no matter how many times you reset it.
Working Memory Problems
Walking into a room and forgetting why, or losing your train of thought mid-sentence.
A Real Assessment
Adult ADHD often gets missed for years, or mistaken for anxiety, stress, or just being disorganized. We take the time to look at your real history and patterns, not just how you're presenting on a given day, so whatever comes next is based on an accurate picture.
Building New Systems
A diagnosis explains the pattern, it doesn't undo years of coping habits built around it. Therapy helps you build systems that actually work with how your brain operates, instead of fighting against it.
Medication, When It's Right
If medication is part of the plan, GeneSight testing helps find what's likely to actually work, instead of starting from scratch through trial and error.
Worth Knowing
ADHD and other mental health conditions
ADHD & Anxiety
It's common to have both. Years of trying to manage a brain that won't cooperate can leave anxiety in its wake, and treating one without the other rarely tells the whole story.
ADHD & Depression
A long stretch of feeling behind, disorganized, or misunderstood can wear a person down. Sometimes treating the ADHD lifts some of that weight. Sometimes the depression needs its own direct plan too.
ADHD & PTSD / Trauma
Trauma can create focus and concentration problems that look a lot like ADHD from the outside. We take the time to sort out which is which before landing on a diagnosis or a plan.
ADHD & Bipolar Disorder
Both involve impulsivity and mood swings, making accurate diagnosis crucial. Incorrectly prescribing ADHD medications can worsen bipolar symptoms, so we ensure a full evaluation before starting treatment.

questions about ADHD Support
A few things people usually ask
What's actually involved in an assessment?
Time spent understanding your (or your child's) history and day-to-day patterns, not a quick checklist. It's the difference between an accurate picture and a guess.
How do I know if it's ADHD, or just normal kid behavior?
That's exactly what an assessment is for. Every kid has moments of distraction or big energy, ADHD is when those patterns show up consistently, across different settings, and start getting in the way of school, friendships, or daily life. We look at the full picture before landing on anything.
Will my child need medication?
Not necessarily. Medication is one option, not a requirement, and it's decided together based on what's actually needed. Some families start with support and structure alone and find that's enough.
Can adults be diagnosed with ADHD for the first time?
Yes, and it's more common than people think. Plenty of adults spend years attributing their struggles to being disorganized or lazy before realizing there's an actual explanation. A childhood diagnosis isn't required to be evaluated now.
What if I think it's ADHD, but it might be something else?
That's a real possibility, and it's part of why the assessment matters so much. Anxiety, sleep issues, and a few other things can look similar to ADHD from the outside. We take the time to sort out what's actually going on before assuming anything.
How soon can we get an appointment?
Reach out and we'll get you scheduled as soon as we can. Wait times vary, but we understand that once a family decides to move forward, waiting feels harder than the decision itself.
