Online Therapy

Psychiatric

Psychiatry is a branch of medicine focused on the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders. Your provider here is a licensed psychiatric specialist, trained to understand the whole person, what's really going on, not just the symptoms on top.

For Adults

Many people come to us after years of managing on their own, or after finding that therapy alone hasn't been quite enough. Your first appointment is a real conversation about your history and what's actually going on, not a rushed checklist. From there, we build a plan together, and stay with you as it evolves.

For Kids & Teens

Ages 5 and up. We start with a thorough assessment for ADHD or autism, never a rushed one. Medication only comes into the picture when it's genuinely needed, and we always keep an eye on how a child is doing at school, at home, and with friends.

What We Treat

Whatever brought you here, this is the right place

Depression

A heaviness that's lasted weeks, not just a bad day.

Anxiety

Worry that won't quiet down, even when nothing's actually wrong.

Bipolar Disorder

Highs and lows that don't match what's actually happening in your life.

Panic Disorder

Panic that hits without warning, and doesn't feel like it fits the moment.

OCD

Thoughts or rituals that feel impossible to stop, even when you know they don't make sense.

PTSD

A memory that still feels present, not past.

How We Think About Medication

What We Offer

Opioids

Deliberate on purpose, not the first thing we reach for

Medication can genuinely help. It's just not where we start, and it's never the whole plan on its own.

We'd rather take the time to understand what's actually going on first, even if that means moving a little slower than a quick prescription would.

What To Expect

What people usually want to know

Starting psychiatric care can feel intimidating, especially if a past experience left you feeling rushed or unheard. Here's what's true about seeing us, so there's nothing to guess at going in.

Hands clasped together, representing the common questions people ask before starting care

Scheduling is often quick

Same-week appointments are often available, so you're not waiting weeks to be heard.

You won't be rushed

Your first appointment covers your full history, not a five-minute checklist.

Medication is never the only plan

We look at the whole picture, sleep, stress, relationships, not just the symptom that brought you in.

Online is an option

Every provider on our psychiatric team offers virtual appointments, if that's a better fit than coming in.

questions about psychiatric care

A few things people usually ask

What is GeneSight, and is testing required?

GeneSight is a simple test. You gently rub a swab, like a long cotton swab, on the inside of your cheek for a few seconds, and that's it. It shows how your body handles certain medications, so your provider can pick one more likely to work for you the first time. It's optional, never required, your provider can help you decide if it's worth doing.

It depends on age. For younger children, we typically involve parents directly in both the appointment and the plan. For older teens, there's often a mix, some time together, some time one-on-one, so your therapist can build trust while keeping you informed of anything important.

That's a normal place to start. You don't need to have decided anything before your first appointment. We'll talk through what's going on, and if medication doesn't seem like the right fit, we'll say so, this isn't about pushing a prescription.

Yes, if you'd like us to. With your permission, we can stay in touch with your therapist so your care stays connected, medication and therapy working together instead of running on two separate tracks.

Your first visit usually runs longer, closer to an hour, since we're covering your full history. Follow-up appointments are shorter, typically 15 to 30 minutes, once a plan is in place.

That's worth telling us about directly. A past experience, whether it was side effects, feeling unheard, or a medication that just didn't work, helps shape what we try differently this time. You're not starting from zero, that history matters.
